One day we saw a man shoveling dry cement powder into these saddlebags to carry up the mountain.
One view of Amalfi
The fountain in the square.
Looking up the main street from the square.
LW trying an Italian beer.
The view on our walk home to our hotel one evening.
Morning sunrise
Inside of the Cathedral of St Andrew
From the 16th century until 1969, Amalfi was a leading paper maker. We visited the Paper Mill Museum to see how they originally made paper from cloth. LW got to try and made his own paper.
On our boat ride to see the Emerald Grotto.
I know it looks blue but it's actually the Emerald Grotto. The sunlight shines in through the tunnel causing the water to look like this. It's 30 meters deep and clear as can be. I could see all the way to the bottom.
We rode the bus UP to Ravello. This was the view from there.
This is Positano.
The public beach scene
Lemons are the thing in this area. I've had a Limoncello drink, this lemon granita, lemon cake, and several pastries with lemon filling. All fabulous!
A cute little church in Sorrento.
