US Virgin Islands

Wednesday we arrived in St Thomas.  This morning as I did my walk on the jogging track the view was gorgeous.

Our excursion did not leave right away so we walked down the pier for some lunch at Senor Frogs.

When it was time to leave we boarded a ferry that would take us to St John.  Along the way we saw some beautiful sights. We saw the homes of Carol Burnett, David Letterman and Bill Murray.  Our guide said that Bill Murray and the ferry captain are friends. When Bill is on the island, the ferry swings into the cove near his home.  The ferry riders shout out Bill's name and he comes running out and throws his coffee at the boat.  But unfortunately he was not home on our trip.

The ferry took us to St John Island to catch a vehicle that would transport us into the Virgin Islands National Park to Trunk Bay.  Trunk Bay is named on many lists as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  The water was the most beautiful shade of blue, almost turquoise.  It was gorgeous.  We were able to snorkel an underwater trail.  I have tried snorkeling before and was excited to try again. This was LW's first try.  The fish were beautiful.  Again I wish we had more time but alas we will have to come back.

Here are pictures.
