Rodeo Fun

The week of Labor Day, we joined my dad and step mom at the Tri State Rodeo in Fort Madison, Iowa. It rained so much the arena was a muddy, slippery mess.   The cowboys had a very difficult time staying on the broncos and bulls.  The calf ropers and steer wrestlers had even more trouble because they couldn't get their footing in the mess.

My favorite event is mutton busting.  This is when little kids suit up with helmets and try to ride a sheep.  The night we saw this there were kids aged 3-7 attempting this feat.  Here is the evening's winner.
